ADMISSION AND GENERAL INFORMATION
Admission to the program is highly competitive and is based on an application and audition process. Not every applicant will receive an audition. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited and approved institution. International students are welcome to apply to the MFA program; please visit our FAQs page for important information regarding your transcripts. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
All applications to The Old Globe/USD MFA in Dramatic Arts program must mail the materials listed below with a postmark no later than January 4. No on-line submissions.
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION EARLY TO SECURE AN AUDITION

1. Two copies of the completed, signed application and personal profile responses.
2. A nonrefundable $55 application fee payable to the University of San Diego with a personal or cashier's check. Credit cards not accepted.
3. Two current headshots and resumes. The same picture for both headshots is preferred.
4. One copy of official transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions attended (can be mailed separately - will not delay application process).

Letters of recommendation are not required. We must receive items 1, 2, and 3 from the above listed before we will call to schedule an audition. Transcripts can arrive separately.

If you are having problems, please call USD Graduate Admissions at 619-260-4524 and ask for an MFA in Drama application to be mailed.

The audition consists of two two-minute monologues, one classical and one contemporary. No singing or dance auditions. Further audition information will be given when we contact you to make the audition appointment. Applicants must audition on one of the scheduled dates. No video auditions accepted. There are no callback auditions.
